Special Session: Physics-Informed and Data-Driven Wind Power Forecasting and Turbine Awareness

This Special Session focuses on wind power forecasting that integrates data-driven learning with physical knowledge and explicit turbine operational awareness. We welcome methodological and applied contributions spanning forecasting horizons from minutes to day-ahead, including deterministic and probabilistic prediction, uncertainty quantification, and robust forecasting under nonstationary weather and changing operating regimes. The session particularly encourages work that bridges advances in hybrid physics–AI modeling with practical requirements in wind farm operation and grid integration, while accounting for turbine conditions such as curtailment, derating, faults, icing, and maintenance events.

Suggested Topics (including but not limited to):

  1. Ultra-short-term, short-term, and day-ahead wind power forecasting
  2. Probabilistic forecasting, uncertainty quantification, and calibrated prediction intervals
  3. Physics-informed machine learning for wind and power prediction
  4. Deep time-series modeling, including Transformer-based methods
  5. Large language models for forecasting, including foundation models for time series and hybrid LLM-based forecasting pipelines
  6. Multi-source data fusion using SCADA, numerical weather prediction, and meteorological measurements
  7. Turbine-condition-aware forecasting under curtailment, derating, faults, icing, and maintenance
  8. Robust learning under nonstationarity, concept drift, transfer learning, and domain adaptation
  9. Data quality, missing data handling, anomaly detection, and reproducible evaluation protocols
  10. Applications and field studies for dispatch, bidding, and grid integration
